May This Be Love - jimi hendrix
(yes, the entire song)

Any Jimi Hendrix song.

i think because of the music genre, tom morello of rage against the machine is massively underated. every solo he's every produced has something unique about it, and one day soon im just gonna make a mix of all his solos put into one song.

No one can touch David Gilmour when it comes to bad ass solos. GO pick up The Wall. Start off the one from Comfortably Numb.

im not one for long solos, but zappa's always nice with it

it's hard to beat david gilmour's work on The Wall... like the ever popular (but rightfully so) Comfortably Numb
metallica - fade to black
the solo at the end of the song... goddamn nice riffs in there are well.

The 11 minutes version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine with Creedence Clearwater Revival has some guitar riffs that makes me wanna hear over and over again

i love the sound of the solo in queen's we will rock you.

I like solos but they never really did much for me. It wasn't till Opeth's Mikael Ã…kerfeldt's solo in The Leper Affinity off the Blackwater Park album gave me goose bumps did I finally begin to love solos. If your into progressive metal these guys are unique and impressive.

ah shit grayhood! good call. brian may of queen is fucking awesome.
im not a big fan of them, but his solos are crazy ass shit!

"Neenering your balls off" - playing every note in every song.

'cowgirl in the sand'- Neil Young

Arinya, agree with you on that one. Just picked up the live DVD of the Damnation album. The mellow stuff is very impressive. Those guys are exceptional musicians.

some of Marc Fords work on the Black Crowes "Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" is pretty spot on.
seriously.
go have another listen.

The Edge in "The Fly" from "Achtung Baby" simple, but powerful and flying high. Prince in.. well, hell of great solos.: "Peach", "Dinner With Delores", "Purple Rain", "Gold". A bit cheesy sometimes, but always kicking ass.
Zappa.. what can I say?
"Goodnight Austin, Texas, wherever you are" :)

I can't believe Tom Morello's name even came up in this.
I love Zappa, but any Vai solo is amazing.
'Dimebag' Darrel is a monster, though. Articulate to the nth degree

I love Slash's bluesy solos and snarly riffs. Most memorable guitar riff is probably Sweet Child of Mine..and it started as a joke!
Clapton, a lyrical player
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing
Jimmy Page - everything

Each style has it's own king...
Nuno Bettencourt (EXTREME) had is technically as perfect as I have heard for his genre of the 80's.
Album: 3 Sides to Every Story: Some very good soloing, and spot on timing.
I admit that I haven't heard everyone though. I'm sure there are even better than him.

November Rain
Slash!

Nuno Bettencourt?? EXTREME??? Are you kidding me? This whole thread just took a turn down the GAY road.
