Ok, project is done, ready to go, I made an autorun.sys file, to go on the cd, so it will launch itself when inserted on a pc.
But the icon, doesnt show on the desktop, you need to go look for it under MY PC, anybody knows how to fix this? I look on google, and I cant find a solution, I know its possible since we inserted an aol cd on the same computer and not only it launches, but the cd is there!I look for the autorun.sys on the aol cd, to check how to do it, but there is none..
anyone?
thanks!

How to Add an Icon
If you want your CD to have it's own icon displayed in the My Computer window as the CD drive, add an extra line of code so that the autorun inf file looks like the example below:
[Autorun]
open=AutoRunPro.exe /s
icon=youricon.ico
[AutorunPro]
Run1=index.htmlReplace youricon.ico with the actual name of your icon. You can specify any path to the icon which is in your directory structure. For example, if your icon is in a folder called images and this folder is in the root directory, the code to use would be like the example below:
[Autorun]
open=AutoRunPro.exe /s
icon=images\youricon.ico
[AutorunPro]
Run1=index.htmlNote: You do not need to add the icon= parameter when autorunning exe files because the application will already have an icon and it will be displayed.

I just realiced that on the AOL cd, is not the actual cd icon, what shows up on the desktop, its a shortcut, anyone knows how to do this from a cd rom?

this publishing software knows how:

you could create one with the software and check what it does and do it with your project.
good luck!

I was thinking about this shortcut issue... somehow it doesnt make sense to create a shortcut to your cdrom on the desktop, because it will not work when the cdrom is not present!

anyway check also this link for a director tutorial on how to find the desktop path on a windows engine.
