Actually, after playing with this I can see this is a great tool for freelancers. I set up an account - may upgrade so I can customize it.

Am I the only one who bothered to read the first sentence of text on the very first page?
"Pleenk is a powerful web-based application that enables all creative professionals to communicate effectively with their clients, exchange files, organize projects and streamline their work"
- level20
yeah, it is a bit daunting - but I kept on reading and set up a basic account. This will help keep my clients in check when I freelance. The features page helps out a little with what this thing is all about.

Demo online!
For all of you who are still wondering what the crap Pleenk is go here (also available on the index page):

and of course input is always appreciated. :)

what kinda game is it? i just love interweb games...
...sorry.
- DutchBoy0
just went to do the demo.. damn this thing is quite advanced!
i have not seen a thing like this before.
great work!
i was wondering, will it be possible to just buy it as an app and install it on your own server and customize it with your own logo etc.?
so that the clients have the idea of still dealing with my company?

Thanks Dutchboy! And why yes you can. :)
We sell a yearly license to install the Pleenk system on your own system, or the cheaper way (not that I'm suggesting it...) is to create a subdomain on your own site and link to your username. Check out the information on doing this at the bottom of this page:
If you are interested in purchasing a license please contact me at

dutchboy: also if you're just wanting to place your logo and customize the colors - this is part of the paid plans - see all information on the same page

cheers!
i am not ready for it yet.. but i see it might help me a lot in the future!
and the prices for it seem very fair.

I wouldn't take it so personally. It's not often that a technology based product gets posted in the NTB, unless it has a really well designed site. I think your site is informative, but not worth the mention on a design portal.
- lvl_130
this may be a dumb question but...are the prices based on monthly / anual ? i can't seem to find this info.
thanks, and good work

it's nice, and would be great as a free thing, but I personally don't think it's worth paying for. Maybe i speak as a php nerd, and not everyone will share my opinion, but it's not that hard to implement something like this on your own site.
- liquidamber0
lvl_13 - ranging from 10-40 monthly
- lvl_130
i figured. just wanted to make sure though : )
thanks

toastie: PM tools like these often cost companies thousands of dollars to make an implement for themselves. the way that we have created it is very straight forward and easy to use, but really it's a huge and very advanced PHP system. I know what you mean about creating a simple post system like this on your own site.

ok I was looking at basecamp and at flight deck....
but I very seriously doubt if they would take this suggestion seriously.....
but if you came out with this....people would pay you a lot of dough to do it....
I would like to install pleenk on my server so I dont have to worry about your bandwidth charges and branding and MB limits......
Now if you could come up with a package like that ......take a look at the way blogger has their content system but allows you to host the files on your server if you choose..... but using the blogger.com posting system...hosted remotely....
But the commenting system is branded on your site using the blogger mechanism...
Now tell me how we can hook that up and you possibly got yourself a project.....

don't know about the tool but the logo is obviously better. great font.
