I need to design a logo for a Health Cntre called "Howard Health Centre" (Stupid name, I know)
But any previous examples of health / clinic related logos would be great.

Well just start the process, get that sketchbook out.
Here is an great example of a good solid logo. Designed by Jean Widmer for the Pompidou Centre
It's simplicity is it's beauty it is a direct suggestion of the architecture of the Pompiduo Centre
Simplicity is the key when designing a logo,d etail is a waste of time.
I wasn't dissing you for asking for help, but there a few people in here who expect people to solve there problems, do their work.
Anyways good luck

Sorry, posted before I saw your response, oops. Thanks for the advice man. But when I think simplicity, I think a medical cross, but I don't think just a cross would cut it. Maybe I'm being too narrow minded here...

the base letter elements of your logotype could fit into a 3x3 matrix layout - H, H, C & '+', if you chose, maybe you could base it around that somehow? (I'm not suggesting using pixels here!)

try taking the biggest problem, awkward name, and making the solution to that the foremost design element. the connotations of "H" shapes leads to some interesting cross-like letter forms.

mrming I think you are onto something there!!.

use the two H's to make four bedposts of a hospital bed or something.

HHH - the name of the School in Pump up the Volume. Not sure what their logo was and can't find it on the web however, IF you could find it, perhaps it'd be a source of inspiration.
