look the 2nd spread starts with the text in the 1st column, maybe you can grab a pattern and do the same in the 1st spread. patterns in text placement are v important coz you can play with eye-comfort, creating the expectation of having the same kind of semantics in the same places or even break it all apart to enhance some new.

You know what. It is a bit bland, and you could spend your life fretting over white space, leading, grids etc.. But then again, you could put your feet up for a few hours, have a few cups of tea and some biscuits whilst pissing around on the internet. I know which i'd choose.

I agree with what's been said before.. The leading of 'SITO NEWS" is ultra tight to the line below. Are you working with a baseline grid?
Also the main text box on the LHP is very low down, it looks very heavy, like its fallen down to the bottom of the page. The body type looks quit heavy, maybe use regular or light typeface – a serif would be good for body copy and act as a contrast to the headers.
One other thing those lines | next to the folios are a bit pointless, space will work fine, it looks a bit like pages 21 and 13 rather than 2 and 3
