Note: it says in the details it hasn't been tested on a iMac G5 yet customer service says its ok but more RAM recommanded???

If she already has the iMac G5 you can download Maya PLE to see how it runs. You will need more RAM for complete and it will make things easier. But right now Lightwave is the most recommanded 3D app for Mac. Just what i read.

I e-mailed alias for you. they said you should be fine, but rendering will go slower so u might wanna get more ram unless you like to wait longer. But the app should run fine.

i use http://www.formz.com on my iMac G3 and i have no problems with speed or anything even when rendering 150.000+ polygons

Well the only good 3D mac software for iMac is lightwave, but its not the software its just a tool. Look at Rustboy.com the guy uses low end software that is out of production and is making a short film called just boy. That looks AMAZING!.

If you wanna test it you can download the personal learning edition Maya PLE if your set on Maya.
