"Montreal is a great city too, too bad most of the people living there aren't!"
idesign, How many times have you been to Montreal?
- Jaline0
No place is extremely horrible.
I was born in Toronto but my parents moved to Ottawa a short while later and I love it! It's better than Toronto in so many ways. It's so peaceful here.
Not to say that Toronto isn't super cool, but it's definitely not the best place ever. Neither is Ottawa.
Lots of places are great to live in, depending on what you're looking for.

I've vacationed there non, and i found most people to be extremely ignorant, stuck up and rude. Mostly I assume, because I speak English. I've been to NY, which most people say has extremely rude people and I have to say that the people in NY were incredibly friendly and hospitable, unlike my fellow countrymen in Montreal. Theres a reason peeps diss the French, and it's usually cause they're complete and utter jerks to people who speak English.
Anyone seen that skit where Triumph goes to Quebec? oh man, thats some classic humour right there.
- Jaline0
I don't find that to be true at all.
Only a few people out of my family (including myself) speak french.
- idesign0
and steveco, you're inferiority complex to us Ontarians is absolutely pathetic. It's not arrogance that sets Ontarians apart from Alberta, it's the jealousy of Albertans that does.
You have oil and don't pay tax and we're the darlings of Canada. Fair trade-off if you ask me.

Canada has such a serious identity complex.
- Jaline0
Sooo true.
Haha.
- Jaline0
We only define ourselves by saying that we 'are not American'.

are you fucking joking me!? we don't pay tax? omg, you poor ignorant soul.
i agree canuck, i had no idea fellow canadians could hate on eachother so much!
where is the love?!
- Jaline0
I love everyone from all parts of Canada!
And I guess the rest of the world too.
- -leah-0
yah jaline! :)
- idesign0
uhm Leah, could you please tell me how much Alberta's PST is?
- -leah-0
um idesign the pst is already included in the price of things, we don't see it added ontop of our bills because it is already there, we still pay for it.

Why are we still fighting about this?

Montreal is by far my favorite city in Canada. It just helps if you speak French.
The next would probably be Toronto only because I haven't spent very much time in Vancouver. Lots of bad things about Toronto.. but there's also a lot of great things about Toronto... it really depends on what circles you run with.
I went to school in Ottawa for a bit over a year... nice city.. comparable to Quebec City or Victoria.. good, safe place to raise a family. Not very exciting though.
- -leah-0
aaaaaaaaaagh this is fucking stupid
- Jaline0
nick, what school in Ottawa?
I agree...it can be a little boring at times. But it's perfect for a family.
- nick0
ps: there's about as much culture in alberta as there is PST
;)

idesign that's exactly the attitude I was talking about. You assume I have an inferiority complex regarding Ontario. Nothing could be further from the truth. I love where I live, I'm just trying to spread the good word and remove the sterotypes that surrond the west.
I honestly appreciate much about Canada - including Toronto and its culture. it's the arrogance that I can't stand. I don't care if your from Timbuktu or London. Don't go dissing other locations without actually understanding them.
- nick0
Jaline, the school i went to lasted about 3 years and closed. It was a POS anyways, so don't worry about it. [think technical college trying to be art school]
