As happy as I am that we helped... I dont think that a PDF would totally solve a problem like this. Only reason I could see it solving it is because it embeds the font. Not real sure, any thoughts?

it won't embed the font if you convert all fonts to outlines first.

good deal, although when viewing it on screen it loks pixelated after outlining and exporting a PDF... any ways around this?

I've been on the Adobe forums with problems like this before. Basically, the advice I always get is forget about what it looks like on screen -- as long as it prints out correctly. I hate that answer too, but it's one of the peculiarities with working in print.
The other piece of advice I get is: fonts and non-postscript printers always mess you up.
So that's why I convert to outlines and save as PDF every time now.

tru.. I hear the same things but damn it I want it to look good for proofs/sign-off and I always hear how it looks on screen even though I express how it is not the final output quality... grrrr

ok when i print from pdf its a little better, but the straight lines somehow is all slightly bended ...
