I've looking into the issue of string length when flash passes variables out to a php page. at the moment the length cannot be greater than something like 2048 characters, has anyone else tackled this problem and what approach have you taken?
already done a bit of googling and PVN seraching without joy!!
thanks

use post rather than get.

using post makes no difference with flash

it makes lots of difference

i understand that using post is meant to send in the body of the document. a colleague here said that isn't the case and it still sends it through the header?
is this not true?

yes it's not true. with post you can send as much stuff as you want but GET is limited.

thank you mirola much appreciated!

it is actually not flash that causes the prob, but a combination of flash and browser.
using regular sendAndLoad with post will be limited to around 2000 chars

correction, that is using regular loadVariables with post will be limited to around 2000 chars
