hi kids,
I wanna upgrade to a MoFo "propper" digi cam. I was going to get the Canon 20D, now the Rebel XT/350D has popped onto the radar. Should i wait? or is it just a toy?
thanks for any help kids

If _you_ don't know, it probably means that you don't need D20's extra features of which the biggest are:
-magnesium body instead of plastic on a metal frame
-5fps instead of 3fps
-ISO up to 3200 (xt - 1600)
/actually you can easily boost iso in rebel by -1 underexposing and +1 process ing raw files/
-a wheel on the back for settingsThe first drebel was a dumbed down version of 10D, with some of the functions disabled by software. The new rebel seems like a great camera by itself. Wait until it hits the shelves, try 'em both with your hands and decide. I think rebel xt body with a $450 sigma 18-50/2.8 is a much better choice than a D20 with kit lens which is said to start being sharp at apertutes of about 8.
The xt/sigma combination will give you much better picture quality for about the same price.
People tend to forget that picture quality is limited by the glass they mount on the camera.OK, just to mess you some more in the head.. http://forums.dpreview.com/forum…

I picked up the 300D used for $500 and I'm happy w/ it. Got a sigma 28-135 lens (although I recommend the Canon 28-135 IS) is you have the money for it.
I'm still learning/experimenting w/ all the options, so if you're in my boat, go over the lower model, you prob won't regret it.

thanks for the help. I'm a pretty competent photograher, (been published, sell images as stock). So i'm really asking if the 350D is going to be worth getting instead of the 20D on the basis it's a newer model, so probably is just as good as the 20D (without that 3200 ISO)
thanks for your help again, im being swayed closer to the 20D
