Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Genesis 1:25

GeorgiePorgie, i hope you're being sarcastic there, but if not;
that was before humans sinned, lost perfection, and therefore became incapable of fulfilling the responsibility you're referencing.
- GeorgiePorgie0
quite right good man
- QuincyArcher0
heh, sorry, but for a moment i thought i was going to have to start kicking some serious butt.
- GeorgiePorgie0
Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.
Exodus 1:9

damn, i just love temporary solutions!

i thought we invaded iraq to save the polar bears.

a temporary solution that really isn't a solution:
"Critics noted that the U.S. Energy Information Agency believes the short- term impact of drilling on gasoline prices would be negligible. Drilling in the refuge could increase domestic oil supplies by 20 percent by 2025, but would only lessen America's dependence on foreign oil from 62 to 60 percent, the agency found." - from sfgate.com

-you'd think by now that we could synthesize this shit -
we can CLONE HUMANS for shit sake...
but we can't recreate fucking oil?
- grafholic0
um, we don't really have to recreate oil...we can depend on other energy source like wind or solar power or start producing more hybrid cars.
but the government isn't really helping promote it...because...you know.
- surgical_steel0
in last months WIRED mag, they had said that in order for solar energy to become as beneficial as oil at the US's current demand, the amount of solar panels needed ..."would require as much land as 10 Iowas"
the powers of the wind and the sun are everyones dream, but yeah, gov. funding is little to nil...
(fuckers...)

it's our instant gratification culture.. no one wants to invest in something that won't produce results on their watch. screw the children, i'll be long dead when the oil runs dry.
- grafholic0
i don't believe this is purely based on our instant gratification but more about corporate profitability.

yeah...i've pretty sure this has everything to do with corporate profitablity. which is something i don't really care about.
I'd like to ask those people to stop ruining the earth.
