yeah don't go to amsterdam with mom and dad. go to krakow in poland. prague too, it's not far. basically, i would go as far east as possible. western europe is tourism hell. eastern europe is an extremely interesting place. Berlin is hyyyype. go to Kreuzberg when you're there, thank me later. have fun!

Hey how could you not think about london, its the biggest city in europe and the coolest.
Iam travlering round eastern europe right now. At the moment i am in bratsislava, great city but not much outside the old town. I though Prauge was great but very geared up for the torists.

London is very much overvalued. A lot of places are much more funky.
Lisbon for example..

If you're going to Jelenia Gora, definitely go to Wroclaw too, it's very close and worth seeing when you're in this part of Poland. Too bad I will probably be away from the country then. A lot of people from the US visit Oswiecim (Auschwitz), it's a strong experience.
Wherever you go, be sure to skip Warsaw ;)Barcelona was my love from the first sight, I can't say anything but go there. I also liked Brussels a lot, it'was totally different from what I'd expected.
Prague.. shame I haven't been there for years since I live so close.
It'll be summer and I think spending your vacation in hot concrete environment might get tiresome at some point.
In southwestern Europe, I'd spend a day or two in a small Mediterranean village in France, Italy, Spain, Greece or Portugal. Drink local wine, scuba dive, get the feel of the place.
My friends say Bulgaria is a kind of rare and exotic place for a summer trip, and it's unbelievably cheap.Just be sure to keep your hand on the wallet when on main streets of big cities of Europe :]

Go to the nordic countries.

I spent 8 days camping in Southern Switzerland on the northern border of Italy, just near Lacarno. It was beautiful and very relaxing. Probably a little out of the way though.
I have heard nothing but good things about Prague though.
