Not neccesarily, everyone likes a nice design don't they?, whether they like our work or not. I just think that having a deck that isn't your usual 'skate design' would be nice, in the same vein have you seen the Peter Saville designs for Supreme?

dunno, rasko.
Regarding the Build decks, Michael, I think your designs would be appreciated more throughout the design community than the skate community. Granted, I'm speaking from a late 20's demographik, but most of the skaters I know care more about the deck than the graphics. But, I could definately see your work on a snowboard - though it is a bit cliche to design for snowboards these days, so there's that to take into account as well.
That said, please let me know when the decks are available for purchase! ;)

i agree with dan-dan-dan, that i don't think people other than designers would buy them (as we are fans of build). i think 100USD would be a accurate price (& definately signed). girl & chocoalte (skateboards) have the same respect in the skate community as build does in the design community.

Anyone who says that skaters will not be interested in a deck for graphics forgets to take into account how many young kids are picking up skating.
Not everybody is PRO.
It's not just the PROS who have access to a CCS Catalog. When I first started, that's ALL that was important to me. And at that age, I wouldn't think anything of being called a beginner, because that's exactly what I was.
BUILD, if your worried about people (skaters), not purchasing them, all you really have to do is find a company (enjoi, birdhouse, girl, chocolate etc.) that develops boards skaters want to skate.
Work with a company who makes top quality decks then you have both qualities and both consumer markets.

just looking for a new deck, cant find any nice ones online.

I Think is would be cool to see these decks, but even cooler to see ibuild could swing a deal with a current skate company.
Like what Mike Leon did, approached Element and got to do a board series. Let this movie if you havent seen it be an inspiration :)

I don't think this will be EXCLUSIVE to designers world wide, however, I do believe they're the ones that are going to be lining up to buy them the night before shipment comes in.
Leaving next to nothing for those who don't know.
Sure everybody appreciates a nice design; I would say especially a skater.
But I don't know that there going to purchase it to hang it up.

Q: What's the best way to hang/fix decks to the wall?
A: you have 8 holes in a deck, just pick one.

build, what exactly would you consider "not the usual skateboard designs"? what hasn't been tried? have you thought about different/unusual materials? clear plexi would be happenin', until used anyway.

in effort to be a little more constructive...
the concept of Build decks designed for an existing company that can distribute them at a "skateable" price is a great idea. to have your art put out on the street would be so much more rewarding.
i've designed a few snowboards and can say first hand there's nothing more satisfying than standing in the lift line and seeing some kid in front of you with your board all hacked, well used and plastered in decals.

Plan B: Questionable Video.
Best vid ever produced for the skate community. I grew up on that shit.
