Cannot believe that Quicktime 7 will not play avi's.
Sad how Apple have lowered themselves to Microsoft's level.Cant one of you just give in and make an app that plays both, like VLC does.
Sad companies. No idea.
Time to remove quicktime and use VLC for everything.vent over.

I just opened an avi porn in quicktime and it worked fine. Your quicktime sucks.
- designerror0

2 month old iBook 1.33ghz and it still lacks
- tomkat0
one avi worked fine, another one had no sound and crashed the fu**er
maybe divx issues?
- NegativeSpace0
most likely.

mine just crashed it instantly, tried 4 avi's.
All work with VLC.Apple just want PC people to get quicktime and vice versa.
Create one good player that plays all and it will become the industry standard.
Does no-one see that!!!damn them all.
Oh, and have you seen the state of the newest Windowns Media Player for Mac. OMG what a joke. Its like 10 years old.
These companies are sometimes very stupid with their turf wars.VLC is the new quicktime.
VLC is the new media player.
and I'm pissed-off!!!!!!
:)

i see your point and agree
but VLC is on crack sometimes too
- Chip0
Yeah, agreed also.
But most things play on it, from time to time...:)Looks like they might be shutdown though.

QT 7 only supports porn avi files.
- NegativeSpace0
/\ all that matters.

just joking, but really...
thats odd tho, i havent had any problems with quicktime 7, its running like quicktime 6 for me but better. But yeah those HD trailers and stuff seemed really nice quality but i thought they would play a bit smoother.
