Yeah read your history book randomman, dont you know that where they put all the real stuff that happened?
Or is it a history thats agreed upon....
- randoman0
I don't know about history books, I take everything with a grain of salt... even first hand experience.
However, i digress that my insights to Nazi Germany may have been indirectly effected by heavy and prolonged use of ID Softwares Boyond Castle Wolfenstien.

It's a common misundertanding to interpret Darwinism as "survival of the strongest". It is "survival of the fittest". There is no "watering down" of genes. The conditions change and the ones more fitting the conditions survive. There is no "superior" in nature—an amoeba is a more successful life-form in adapting to current conditions than a tiger, therefore, will probably not be extinct as quick.
Therefore, if crack-heads are the ones that survive and pass their genes to the next generation—they are the "natural selection".

no, they are not "natural selection", because WE ARE SELECTING THEM, quite unnaturally.
- scarabin0
if you want an example of unnatural selection, randoman, look toward anyone who breeds anything for a specific purpose.
80% of all dog breeds were created by man in breeding programs designed to "evolve" the animal in a specific way, much much faster than it could ever occur in the wild.
there are goldfishes and other anim als that have been bred with certain disabilities, requiring constant care from humans. if these animals were dropped into the wild they would die immediately.
farmers and ranchers are also big users of unnatural selection. you think strawberries grow the size of apples in nature? wild strawberries are the size of a fucking fingernail in the wild...

the nazis were trying to do this for humanity.
what i was initially saying is imagine what superhumans we could be right now if they had succeeded
- randoman0
I was agreeing on the absence of natural selection having been replaced by human selection in many cases (but could that also be cnsidered natural in some ways?).
Maybe if the person in question was poised to join this "super race" and become a superhuman, they wouldent be so vocal towards opposition, maybe some who still cherished the diversity of race would.
But at the end of the day, is it fair to others? Who decides what qualifies a human as super-stock or "a keeper". Whats seen as a strength to one might be seen as a weekness to another and vice-versa.
Is the superhuman like Hitlers arian vision? Do they play classical music, shoot archery, jog marathons and enjoy wine before retiring at 10:00PM sharp? Are they what we precieve to be a centurion? Most importantly are they allowed to go against the grain? If not, progress might end at this point to some extent. Should and can the 'X' factor be removed from the gene pool?
There are simply too many ethical questions that still need answering before untertaking the creation of what the popular majority would consider a perfect race. IMO, these things should be left up to G-d, nature, earth ,(enter higher power that you believe in here).

interesting that you form ideas and opinions based on playing video games randoman, wonder how much impact movies are having on you. now normally i really don't care but the subject your talking about right now isn't really a subject you should be picking because it's preprogammed to be utter bs. sorry to say that though.
- randoman0
What subject? Nazi'ism? I didn't start the thread, just stating my views and asking questions. I like to see what others think about things.
My views werent all based on the video game, it's a joke. I do have an overactive imagination and I try to keep it in check, i am aware of this.
i think everyone should consume a bag of Butter Beans and chil.

i think sitting back and waiting for a god or diety to just "take care of" your fate is irresponsible, a cop-out, and a generally weak characteristic for a species to have.
what will change us from being weak animals is taking control of our species instead of just leaving it up to chance, using our tools and our knowledge to shape our bodies and minds into more beautiful and powerful forms
the social implications you suggest would arise in this vision, unfair or unpleasant government, unhappiness, i think are little more than cultural imprints
just because you grew up in a place where your bloodlines were protected and optimized does not mean that you would be miserable or anything would be unfair
unfairness is an arbitrary term whose meaning varies widely from culture to culture... if you were raised with this mindset it would be completely natural to you.
- scarabin0
we must be our own gods
- randoman0
It's easier for us to say these things, but what about the less fortunate? If a super-societ sprung up tomorrow and decided that you, your family and friends don't fit the bill and should be "disposed" of, would you still support this way of thinking? What if the the things that you held as ideal were deemed otherwise by this new race? Do you think it's k to gentrify something?
Good examples would be the "social clensing" of citys especially NYC. First you have artists which make an area beautiful and culturaly diverse... then these artist are kicked further into Brooklyn while a rich, more socially superior folk move in. It keeps happening till the artists will be floating in the Atlantic or forced to move to (shudder) New Jersey.
Just keep in mind that popular majority and optimization = what you see on TV sitcoms and MTV. Is this the world you want?
- randoman0
I don't want ot make it sound too much like everything should be left to religion... but I don't think we are ready to be playing G-d or calling urself G-d, and I don't feel that we need to right now... have faith.
- randoman0
Maybe we should start a thread called Nazi Nintendo PSP and condense our conversations into one.
- scarabin0
bah.
faith is the extraordinary ability of man to convince himself of something that has no proof or evidence
i think we have more need now than we ever did before.
- scarabin0
heh
- randoman0
Well if you look at the decisions that the most powerful in the world are making now, most of them are plain frightening.
Say they game superhuman genes or powers to current world leaders...
If Bush and Cheny had superhuman powers can you imagine this world?! Half of it would be in flames as we speak.
- CTRL0
This thread is out of control! Haha. So where's the NAzi Nintendo thread?
BTW... there was a VICE magazine which had a nazi issue. Some funny stuff: black nazis and toy-himmlers produced by household-name-toy-companies. Interesting.
- scarabin0
i'm not talking about laser eyes or anything
the powers eugenics would give them is intelligence and a healthy body
if they were smart they wouldn't be making dumb decisions
- randoman0
Ok, Im all for improving the human race.. I'm sure evryone is.
But starting with better medicines, more afordable and healthy foods, better schools, research into improving damage (gene/cell therapy) we can achieve more healthy people. i don't support wiping people out that are seen to be weaker. This is barbaric and not progressive.
Current population needs to sustain itself, and so does the way we (ab)use natural resources and the envionment. But there are ways to achieve this... mostly by tempering or doing away with greed.
Maybe we both agree that there is room for improvement for the human race, and progression in intelligence and health are always welcomed. It's just how we go about doing it with compassion and mercy as well.
