i cannot get this red line to show up on pc (firefox) that works on safari. using css i send it to the 0 layer. tried using the -1 layer, wont show up on firefox. what gives?

it is the div labeled, "bar"

first off, id's are for unique identifiers. you should be using class="content" instead of id="content" in your markup.
second of all, i see a red bar on the left margin if that is what you mean? ff in xp pro.

i like it how it is, im not asking for a crit right now. there should be a red bar ABOVE the word photography on the photo page.
i can fix those tags later.
im wondering why it's not showing up in firefox. i know the red bars to the left of the pictures are showing up.

for one thing.
you haven't closed any of your css elements.

no prob. it's because of browser support and quirks mode.
css, just like xhml and xml must be strictly written.
