How are people finding it? has there been many complications in terms of having to update software etc.?
I'm eager to get it one my machine, but just not sure whether to wait a little longer.

wait, not worth it yet.. safari is buggy as hell,

i have mixed feelings...konfabulator runs better and has nicer options than dashboard and quicksilver is roughly a bazillion times faster and more effective than spotlight...lots of strange quirks and bugs yet to be dealt with and i've had some performance issues (on my g3 powerbook, not my g5)...though for some reason i dont mind it too much...

some of my my old illy files are a f*in unpredictable pain in the ass and the ones i need just won't open but just keep crashing illy. think its a font thing. agghh. dual 1.25 g4
: ) forces a smile.

i was not impressed with dashboard. it is super-clunky compared to konfabulator.
spotlight is cool. automater is lame.
i also noticed some instability with CS1 and other programs.
i quickly reverted to 10.3 on my 1.25 pbook.
i'd say wait till 10.4.1 comes out at least.TR1

10.4.1 is already out, isn't it??
- _me_0
installed it this weekend and am waaaay more than happy with it. Blazing boot up times, apps opening quickly, no crashes, no problems whatsoever...
G4Powerbook 17" 1.5gig RAM10.4.1 is out. Software Update downloads it once you've installed.

my dual G5 runs like a bag of shit using Tiger
u decide
my g4 powerbook runs sweet using Tiger, much faster
go figure

hmm. Yeah, 10.4.1 is out. I think i'll leave it a bit. Was going to do a complete reinstall soon and thought it would be a good time to make the jump, but maybe just wait a bit longer.

on a G4 ibook btw.
- blackspade0
what kinda machine are u using
noticible speed difference on my Powerbook which I thought would translate to my g5 as well
but no Dice

i had issues in the beginning, dual 2.0 G5 1gb ram, super slow working with CS, and just sluggish all around. Added ram, now up to 3gb - running nice. spotlight is dope. some random safari crashes tho, and some other weird shit. not worth it to me. fuck the widgets, i'd rather be able to work faster in cs. i didn't do a clean install, so shame on me i guess.

I have Tiger running on a 2ghz G5 20" iMac, 2gb RAM, and a 700mhz G4 iMac with 512mb RAM. Run's fine on both. No noticable slowdown in CS on the G4 iMac since it was upgraded from Panther.
Dashboard is nice. I use it for quick checking stuff. Thing's I previously had to open a program for, check one thing, and then close, like the calculator, currency convert and translation. very handy having them. Weather and yellow pages is handy too.
Granted the majority of widgets out there are absolutely useless, but that are some pratical uses for the Dashboard.

have to say i installed over 10.3.9 and it was a bag of shit, Really really slow. clean install is the only way to go... get backing up now then be ready to install all your software again... took me about 8hours all up... worth it now tho...
- aka0
yeah, was going to do a clean install. Hmm maybe i will. Seems to go well on all who are on G4 systems. A job for the weekend think : )
- designerror0
cant run Flash MX for some fucked up reason, it will only MX 2004 etc. grrrrrrr...
- Leigh0
i didnt do a clean install and ive had nothing but problems, suitcase wont work so ive had to buy font agent pro. I get the spinning beach ball more than ever now and its ben v=crashing alot. Im on a G4 powerbook .

I have just installed it on my top of the range G5 and it is ok works fine I only use Final cut studio on it and nothing else. I think apple have made an error with the widgets and the dashboard and whatever they call them, it is like using one of those education machines for children, bright colors and soft edges and big letters, I in fact hate the aesthetics of it but it works fine.

nay

i'm running 10.4.1(just updated) on a dual 867mhz g4, 1gb of ram.
dont really have a problem with it but i just dont see benefits from switching to tiger, for me anyway.
i only use dahboard to check the weather forecast. i dont use automator. dont use safari. spotlight is alright i guess.
i say if you're still on panther, stick with i for the time being.
