i'm no pro, but it think it looks good. if anything, i would move the 'L' over to the left by a pixel...maybe

Thanks. The client wants all the spaces to be exactly as wide as the one between the I and the L :/

(Jul 3 05, 04:24)they aren't at the moment.

The client's wish is impossible unless you used some sort of straight sided face.
It looks good as is. Only the 'CA' kern could be considered too loose.

but Typo knows best

I agree, close up the gap between the C and A. Possibly look to increase the spacing between the I and L or reduce the spacing around the O.

since when is kerning the client's job?

I think it looks hot.
I would try to tell the client (in a nice way) that they are evenly spaced and it they want to change it anymore then that would just look unbalanced or something. Love that font.

Thank you all for encouragement and pointers.
The logo they've got now is done with (take one guess) Impact, so that explains the hangup on even spaces...
I was thinking of using DIN a while but that font has been overexposed the last years.
Thanks again.

i feel like the "O" is hanging loose, and breaks it apart, a bit... if it's just me, i'll drop my case.

I agree, the clients Kerning expertise can be withdrawn.
C & A are the only 2 letters that look a little too far apart.

3 big yellow police vans have just steamed down the bridges with sirens blaring - that's the start of it then.
