Once again discipler demonstrates his/her misunderstanding of the concept of 'nothing', this time citing it as the origin of evolutionary processes, according to his understanding of his opponents' non-creationist theories..
His use of the word 'nothing' in this instance is incorrect, and I believe that what he refers to is the state of the universe at that point in time about which we have no evidence nor concept, which semantically approximates to 'nothing' in our everyday experience and use fo the word.
Obviously it was not 'nothing' from which the universe, and ultimately ourselves emerged; as a non-creationist, I propose that it is more useful and honest to say that at this point in time, everything still existed, but not in the form that it did after that time.
You may label this time and process 'God', but that really tells us nothing more about it. It remains largely unknowable. Putting the God sticker on it just advertises that you are not comfortable with the idea that there are aspects of existence and yourself that your mind cannot understand.
A bit like me, trying to code floats and margins to look right in Opera and Netscape on a Mac.

Ah-ha - so the secular humanists are trying to get at me through cheeky humor and hi-tech computer wizardry!
I know that asteroids don't "flinger" material, so therefore this is False Doctrine!! Lies!
What about the chemical composition of protozoaic material in the fossil record that can only point to he truth! That a divine and designed mind is behind the evolutionary continuim!
No Asteroid Flingering!!!

discipler, although I might entirely agree with this, I do like this IDEA center. They justify their cause well and present things clearly.

No, I'm simply saying that irreducibly complex organisms demonstrate an intelligent designer. The core information code in DNA is just that... information, much like sequential characters in a program code. Physical processes + random chance cannot produce information. :)Suggesting that science will come up with some materialistic explanation is to demonstrate a type of faith... an evolution-of-the-gaps, if you will.

Let's not get our science from the 1960's (Sidney Fox). Nor from the era of the steamboat (Darwin's day). Let's look at the latest scientific findings. Findings which suggest that life could not have spontaneously arisen from natural selection working with random mutation.

Oh, you mean Discipler responded to this thread? I have him on ignore...why am I not surprised..
It was funny Discipler..FUNNY. Cute graphics, ridiculous voiceover...man, no sense of humor at all...
Why do I have the feeling that Discipler is like the Uber Creationist Ninja,,he sits and waits dressed in black, perched over his keyboard. Waits. Watches. Beads of sweat form on his brow, his piercing eyes ceaselessly and relentless trolling the PVN for the opening - a mention of evolution, or dinosaurs, or something even remotely biological - to charge in with the Bible in one hand and his other hand tearing vengefully across his Staples ergonomic keyboard burning with Christian Warrior Zeal to bring the very word of the Divine into our shallow and meaningless existence.

lets get our dogma from 2000 years ago instead. YAY!! everything is explained. apart from who put the guy eho put us all here there, if you know what I mean. anyway back to lurking :)

Threads "evolve", Tick. :) I wasn't the first to post a science related article in this thread. I responded (as is my custom). So, tell the others about how it was intended to be funny. ;)
- discipler0
nah, kelpie. Let's just look at current scientific findings. Findings which support 4000 + yr. old writings. :)

HAhaha. The guys voice cracks me up.

Funny read about an American Buddhist in Japan walking into an eatery where Japanese converts of Jehovah's Witness and Hari Krishna are arguing about the origin of everything and the meaning of God. A bit long, but it hits the right spots for me:

It is amusing, hehe. Especially when you consider how both Miller and Fox got the early earth atmosphere wrong in their experiments.
...experiments which required the intervention of an "intelligent designer".

hahahaa! brilliant, TheTick, that just cracked me up, thank you :).
