Hi, my stupid boss somehow placed a locked folder on my desktop that is useless. but i cant delete it because it's locked! to top it off, the idiot just randomly typed keys for the password so we can't unlock it.
is there a way to delete it through the console and how do i do that? please help!

either of these should do the trick:

- Tear a piece of masking tape 1"x1"
- Color tape to match your wallpaper.
- Apply tape to screen over unwanted icon.

open up the terminal
make sure the folder is on the desktop
in the terminal app type:
cd ./desktopthat will chnage the directory.
then type:
lsthat will give the listing
then type to remove the folder:
rmdir -r foldernamethen if that doesnt work, you will have to log in as root in the terminal. type:
su rootthen your username & pass.
the type in rmdir -r foldername
cheers

if your the admin or he is just AAPLE+I get info and unlock it with your admin privledges.
And by the way, if your in the terminal all you have to do is drag the folder to the terminal window- it will then automatically find it's path.
