Easy. Could someone be so kind and give me some recommendations for good books on Russian constructivism or Bauhaus. Pref ones with plenty of pictures in :)

I'm reading this one.
AFAIK it gives a nice insight about the theories behind the stuff.

that russian avant garde book is just what I'm looking for. cheers for the suggestions, case closed.

from that book you won't learn why all the little coolio pictures are there...
get a theory book man, not some simplified best-seller. those books are created to take money from junior designers...
jesus, what's with people these days?!

it's not always theory, it can be inspiration. dur!
- Witt0
you mean by inspiration "ripping other people's work". ;)
duh!
- jdcomba0
no, inspiration in general. i look through a design book, and it gets me excited to work. not copy.
- Witt0
i know.
j/k.
but you need to read and forge new ideas if you want to create something really new. that's why the theories are there.
- jdcomba0
completely agree. maybe a bit of both. that's why i suggesten jan tschichold book, lots of old school theory going on there.
- Witt0
yes.
mr Txixo sums up the spirit of standartization of those days.

christ Witt, calm down mate you'll give yourself a hernia. It's a present for a mate who's read up pretty well on this, although if you wish I am sure he'd take part in some sort of exam to check he knows enough about it before he gets to look at the pictures.
salut.
