studied electrical charge...

I heard about that 90 seconds thing. Incredible. Those people must've had some great training, or just knew what to do. Also, imagine being that woman who saw all 300+ passengers while driving her car.

you tell him, MX_!

yep..
it was incredibly boring...
4 hours on the tarmac..
but faraday syndrome or whatever is absolutely correct..thats why we couldnt leave..
i guess in the past people have died because of things like this..
so they weren't fooling around..
it sucked being cooped up for so long...but not nearly as much as running for you life from a burning plane....i can't believe how lucky those guys in air france were to escape with their lives....
haha..and we thought we were sooooo hard done by being cooped up on board our flight..
at least we were first inline once the red alert was over briefly, and we got off the plane before anyone inthe other 80+ planes parked behind us...
christ..can you imagine being in, like, plane 72....knowing that 71 planes ahead of you have to unload....
i think i'd just light up a smoke then and there....

faraday's cage.
come on, everyone knows never to get out of a vehicle with rubber wheels during a lightning storm...
as long as you stay in "Faraday's cage" you are protected as the charge doesn't effect you, as soon as you step out the charge discharges across your body into terra firma at the speed of light leaving you blackened and smoking like something out of a cartoon.

Man, it's absolutely amazing that everyone made it out of the plane in under 90 seconds and survived. I'm in awe and thankfull.

What's the point of keeping people on the plane when they're only going to disembark? Can't get the plane to the terminal? That's what stair cars and shuttle buses and luggage trucks are for.

My father in law was stuck at the airport from noon until 8pm and they weren't saying anything to the peeps in there about what was going on...
- exador10
i was there..
on the tarmac baby..my wife and daughter and i just got back from Halifax yesterday...we were on the tarmac, having just landed, when the whole airport went into shutdown...lightning storm....man...we were only 40 ft from the gate....
anyhow, we had to sit there for 4 hours.....we had no idea what was going on, other than the lightning was keeping us from being allowed to leave....
it wasn't till we got off the plane that we found out what happened to the air france flight...never felt so lucky...
ever..thank god they're all ok..

I'd play the lottery, because their lucky

last time a plane crashed at TO Pearson was in 1978. Same area supposedly. And ended up in the same ditch.
