hey all,
i have a client who wants to just have their site hosted and keep the way they handle their email in-house. anyone know how to set that up in cpanel? something like a mail.theirdomain.com redirect or something?

Edit the DNS.
Change the domains' 'A record' to the IP address of the webserver.

even if the server's IP is the address of a reseller account with multiple domains?

you can do it easily enough through most E-mail clients these days.

(Aug 8 05, 07:50)That depends on the reseller and how their server is configured. Do you have the account yet? We host over 25 sites one box with one IP Address.

Try asking the reseller. Just ask if you can point an external domain name to your server space.

yeah, i just use a reseller account. i think i found the way to do it though. modifying the mx settings to point to mail.clientsname.com and then just have them point that to their IP of the mail server.
thanks for the info :)
