Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but there is a little article on wired about a hacked version of OS X for the Intel chipset.

Funny thing is that OS X works faster on PC.
Geez, what if you were paying through the nose for a piece of proprietary hardware that runs it's native OS slower than the competition? It looks good, but is it worth it? Raises some interesting questions.

i know..
been reading about it all morning...
sounds interesting...very seriously thinking about giving it a go..
if any of you NTers have tried it, chime in and let us know..

Yeah me too. Having used XP Pro, Win 2k Pro and OS X. I think that OS X is the superior product really. I was thinking about installing it on one of my PC's at the office as well. Besides I'm all for competition in OS market, might push security, development, and features along quicker if all the sudden people had a reasonable choice between two similiar products. (of course I'm omitting linux and it's derivatives)

os x blows, good for stability, other than that its just crappy. but i do find it funny that it runs faster on PCs. mac fans are probably shitting bricks.

Very interesting, but far from shitting bricks. I use both major OS's and platforms at an equal pace and each has it's own set of problems. But I'm just a designer. I know nothing about developing, programming and all that fun stuff.

I don't think mac users will be shitting anything apart from all that extra cash we save on hardware. :)

it's interesting for sure. i work on both mac and pc. i'm use them about equally, and indifferent as far as the OS.
but it seems pretty cool. it is kind of funny to see OSX perform faster on pc though.

Has anyone here tried this yet? I have a new PC laptop and I am sick of Windows already but I don't want to F up my laptop somehow. Is it stable? Any issues?
