The secretive computer maker has scheduled an announcement for next Wednesday that industry experts widely expect will be the debut of an iPod that plays videos.

i suppose it was only a matter of time..
it'll be good if Jobs has signed some deals for hollywood movies in the same way he's got most of the record labels on his side..
if you can go to itunes and download a new movie rather than renting it...
as for music videos, i guess that'll be ok..but most of the music i listen to doesn't have videos, so thats not much use to me...only if you cold watch movies and stuff...download stuff from teh google video page...etc...

I dont see the point of video in your pocket.
I suppose its down to your lifestyle. I mean if you travel an hour to work on a train evryday then maybe yes.

we have a high profile client that was flying with an apple rep that was testing a new ipod. he said he couldn't give us any details but the ipod he had with him had bluetooth and an operating system of some sort loaded on it. srry didn't hear anything about a video ipod

A video ipod makes no sense..
too big for your pocket- most movies aren't even available (legally) online- and that is because the average person is not going to sit around and download a 3GB movie file for 14 hours to use the video pod.
Go by a portable DVD player if your so itchin to carry video around town.
