Just a quick shout out to you Mars Volta and ATDI fans. Saw the Mars Volta play last night as a special guest for System of a Down (we left before SOAD came on). Amazing stuff from those guys. Omar is a freakin' genious on the guitar. Cedric is amazing to watch live. He's got quite a set of pipes. They even played two tracks off DeLoused. Drunkship of Lanterns sounds AMAZING live. They just killed it.

I saw Mars Volta about 2 years ago open up for A Perfect Circle and I remember them more muscially than APC. APC had a very elaborate and beautiful show but Mars Volta brought the house down. The lead singer looked like a latin James Brown on stage. He has incredible energy and a voice to match!

(Oct 6 05, 09:18)Ahh yes, but very few are able to pull it off with such ferocious talent.

Yeh. They're brilliant. Haven't seen them yet, but aren't a couple of them from 'The Rapture' or 'At the Drive-in'.

amazing show, all around.

Did you know that when the singer is stepping to the side of the stage to drink something, he's drinking honey?

they didn't take a single break between songs, which I thought was awesome.
Drummer and guitarist were amazing.

Saw ATTDI in their height of stardom. Those 2 dudes that are in Mars now were the show! The singer tied and bound himself with duct tape more and more every song until he couldn't move. Then he just collapsed into the drum kit and then the show was over.
Then a few months after saw SPARTA and it just wasn't even close. Very interested in seeing Mars but didn't want to spend the $ for a System of the Down show,

I've seen ATDI a few times and the Mars Volta twice. The Mars Volta could go down as on of the best rock bands of the new millenuim if they don't all OD first. Absolutely mind-bolwing group of musicians.

Saw them at Brixton Academy earlier this year, totally blew me away.
I really want to see them at Santa Barbara next Friday but there are onlt shit tickets left and its a long way from LA. Anyone got a decent ticket spare?
Go and see them if you have the chance so good!

Seen them 3 times in London, and the somerset house gig should have been my 4th but Omar had stomach trouble or summit. Just the best band I have ever seen. Gutted this is sold out, gig of the year easily in UK

Mars Volta is lame. Listen to real prog rock, not some cheap imitation.

I listened to ATDI's In/Casino/Out the other night for the first time in like a year. It's such a beautiful album.

mars volta isn't retreading shit. at least no more than any rock band owes the 70s for inspiration.
they're live show was unlike anything i ever saw, the first time they came to philly. i don't know how they're playing now but that night was over 2 or 3 hours without a second of silence. they took breaks individually but the music didn't stop for a second. most bands couldn't keep your attention with just a keyboard and a drum for over 10 minutes. love 'em.

the lead singer has an interesting look about him.
