What is a good program to resize multiple jpgs to thumbnail size and where do I get it?

I wasn't familiar with the PS way of doing it. So I open all my files, save one in the format I want it, and then do File>Automate>Batch

-print out
- stick on wall
- walk back really far until it is the size of your thumb
- take pic
- print pic out
- cut thumb out
- scanthere you go..

someone said you can do it from the commandline in terminal.

Make sure to take your pants off and rub salami on your nipples before doing any of this. It helps.
