in the city of london or in london the city?
no dumps, eh? hope you're loaded.
try:
gumtree is pretty good, too, but usually only gets you shared places.
good luck!

There was once a time when i could have deluded myself into paying for a one bed place in London .. but even I'm not that daft.
Save your money - find a friend.
Or get a mortgage. It's more worth it then.
That said, a pal of mine's got himself a place near Angel - paid 6 months, cash in advance - and that's *just about* the same as I'm paying. he found that through Loot .. NOT an agency... for agencies you'd be looking at Essex or Leeds maybe. :)
* I'd love to be proven wrong - as I very-much want to live on my own, without buying a place in a city I do not want to have a long-term future in.

is london really that expensive? ive been there at least 20 times in my life and i never found it that much more than nyc is. its all relative...an expensive city yields a strong place for opportunities which then can give any possibile lifestyle you chose.
that said, school me on what are these expensive prices?
:)
- digilee0
It's the 2nd most expensive place in the world to live*
Need more info?
* i think Tokyo is 1st.

I think it was going to be around £650 pcm when I looked for a single place a couple of years back (and I have pretty low standards as things go! :)
I simply refuse to waste that much money, paying of someone else's mortgage.
Not, that ..er.. I don't practically do that now anyway
*sigh
