I'm planning to do a special work at school about punk history and I'm currently looking for good books on it.
Do you know any good books about punk history and philosophy?

Sounds cool, although I can't help but laugh at how un-punk it is that books exist about punk history.

what does history have to do with social action or belief?

Thx for the quick responses! I already checked through amazon, but thought I could find some personally preferred books on here. Keep 'em comin'.
That "please kill me" sounds pretty good.

you'd probably get a lot out of please kill me and american hardcore... both are first hand accounts from people. american hardcore kind of has a jaded overtone to the whole thing, but it hits EVERY fucking band in early US hardcore
spirit of 69 is mainly about the british non-racist skinhead movements - the beginnings of skinhead, not after the national front adopted the look and bastardized the name - with a heavy fashion angle, which was a huge element to 80s punk in england and again in recent years
