I went to see it yesterday. Great movie, The gorilla looks so fucking human, like skt said half an hour too long, but I give it 5 *.
I love that "monkey"

My 2 cents: Meat fest.
This movie is f*ing insane and extremely intense. Definitely entertaining and does what a movie should do, but all of what happened was just horrible and almost too much. It's an f*d up story. My heart was pounding for much of it and I probably did cry for the chef guy *tear.* I loved his character.
Anyhoo, King Kong's likeness to a real ape was amazing, and truly, the movie was a meat fest. The CGI is so awesome that...well, you'll see what I mean by the meat fest. Ick.
Extremely intense and entertaining movie, but I don't know if I could see it again for a long while.

dude it was shite!!
the animated character was the best actor there, the rest were just crap, shit sroty, waaaaaaaay too long, and had every recipie straigh out the book to draw you into it. wanted to walk out before I was the gorialla, and thats all that made me stay,This was my proof that one day animated characters will replace humans.

I saw some lame promo type show for this film today and two words came into my head:
Jurassic Park
cant say I have any interest in seeing it really.

I'm a bit tired of that Hollywood super-thing, to speak frankly.

Fucking Ace.
It's 'King Kong' for crissakes, keep that in mind and you'll love it.The fx are fantastic, the action reminiscent of good ol' jape movies and the characterisation (well, that of the CGs) is unbelievable... I ended up really empathising with Kong and feeling pretty unhappy with his lot as the inevitable approaches. Simply put - it was well worth letting go for 3 hours - the various Dino bits are ... just Fookin' Ace.
Go. Watch. Now.
Or soon anyway.

Actually, there were a handful of points where the CG frayed a little - disparities between fore and background colours, and the occasional 'halo effect' from Blonde hair on Green screen.
Hm. There's a movie title right there.
- skt0
Aye, some of the matting was a bit comedy. But Kong himself made up for all of that.

I saw it last night. I liked it... cant say I saw any CG errors but I'm not quite geeking in that direction...
The natives were fucked up... Scary.
- Nairn0
yeah, that Blue Lagoon-esque 'Sacrifice' was particularily horrific - I hate shit like that, my imagination take in every mote of detail and puts me right in the frame, with the club swinging down over my ..
.. ah. Spoilers :)

I really like the 19(50's) City scape and there's one shot of a guy walking over a construction girder about 800 feet up... actually gave me vertigo.
