hey guys... alright i work part-time as a designer in this corporate setting.. i never see my bosses except when i turn in my timesheet and they relay all my design work through email... since i'm a freelancer too i was thinking of opening a shop up... and it would be ideal to just have these guys as a client and working from my office...
whats the best way to propose this to the "powers that be", my boss.
thanks

do you work for me?
buy me a beer and we'll talk about it at hooters.
if not, do that.

Tell them exactly what you posted here. Timing is important, so make sure their in a good mood like after lunch or at hooters.

well, we employ a few freelancers here.
all of which work in office. but the way we give them work is a bit different.
maybe if you brought it up you could say once or twice you'd check in the office and work from there, but a majority of the work you would do from home. tell them to give you 3 weeks, if it doesn't work out you'd be happy to work back in the office.
you never know if you don't ask. if they never work directly face to face with you anyways, what's the dif really.

what kind of shop are you gonna open?
porn video store? if so, tell them that it's gonna be your main biz and design is something you do on side.
