I'm after the money.. some of you guys serarching for the perfect design and all that artsy fartsy crap, will be poor while entrepreneurs push it and make money

(Jan 18 06, 07:44)I was reacting to jaz's post about chasing the money above all else. Not about it's worth in today's society.
- KuzIII0
lol, i can't believe you typed all that out version3 (talk about pointing out the obvious).
I think Jaz was referring to the pursuit of money as being above everything else in his life (certainly above being good at a craft/art).
Fucking Americans.
*out.
- version30
seriously though Kuz,
are you really trying to tell me and anyone else reading this thread that a design or piece of art no matter what medium it be with is more important to yo on a personal level than the stability and security of a high monetary income?
if that is your stance I honestly don't believe it.
I believe that people easily get comfortable and feel the sacrifices they make to do something you love.
BUT,
settling is not success and therefore merely an accepted failure in the scheme of such a persons life

version3
(Jan 18 06, 08:41)What the fuck? Are you trying to say that the only measure of success is financial?
To quote Kuz, Fucking Americans.

i don't know it verbatim, but there's a bukowski quote to the effect that "you don't need love in order to be happy; just *some* form of success."
you could replace the word 'love' with 'intellectual or artistic fulfillment', 'the creation of something that will outlive you by generations', 'a huge stack of cash and all the attendant bling', 'blow jobs thrice daily', etc.
success is completely relative. the point is not what you succeed in doing, it's that you succeed full stop.

(Jan 18 06, 08:46)git tae. the both of you.

you seem lost so i'll say it slow
settling is not success whatsoever at all
if you want to do something more, something else go do it
if you are at a job that only pays your bills and lets you do what you want but you feel trapped
you are settling
settling goes both ways
rich man has tons of money doesn't need it, hates the stress of his job quits as ceo becomes bank teller for less money, didn't settle, voila success
pixel monkey being shit on at work no matter how hard he tries hates his job but needs the money failure
same kid makes bank with some website doesn't feel the stress anymore becomes a painter (but isn't well recieved) who cares he paints what and when he wants now success
the moreal of the story,
settling = failure no matter how much monetary incentive is involved
success = doing what you want
work - settling = success

"you seem lost so i'll say it slow"
Now you are sounding like a proper prick.
"settling is not success whatsoever at all"
Settling for a moderate wage, whilst doing something you love is not success?
I don't agree.
Fucking Americans.

"i want to do this, but i'll do this because i can't do what i actually want, I'm afraid to try"
"i like being a failure. no wonder america is such a rich and powerful country"

also the first key to any online success with clients of any stature
give them something to see, that way they have an idea of what you are capable of
you can go from there
and i guess you're saying you don't like my work because maybe there isn't enough up there or the clients not up to your expectations?
the clients i serve are up to thier own expectations and recieve what they want
success i guess isn't important to somone whose only goal in life is to have that big client come so you can lick balls for the contract

if listening to the song was too hard on you and you're up for trying to read a little more
you could follow logic
or contest it all
the work solution makes the common house a homethe element of progress
that you mention is gone
it de-evolved to something you were headed towardas i lay to die the things i think
did i waste my time, i think i did- i worked for lifeall we want are just pretty little homes
our work makes pretty little homeslike a cast shadow
like a fathers dream
have a cut out son
what's a worse disease
to get that pretty little homeas i lay to die the things i think
i don't want to regret what i did- and work for lifeall we want are just pretty little homes
our work makes pretty little homes
agenda suicide, the drones work hard before they die
and give up on pretty little homes(like a cast shadow)
our work makes pretty little homes
our work makes pretty little homes
agenda suicide, the drones work hard before they die
and give up on pretty little homesthis song makes me think of your pretty little home

(Jan 18 06, 09:19)What the fuck are you on about? You are the one that started talking about financial success. Where did big clients come from? I was talking about creative integrity over the pursuit of cash.
For the record, I do earn decent money and I do work for big clients but I would rather be making posters for my mates.
I'm not even sure what you are arguing about anymore, whatever it is, I don't really give a fuck, I have Universals balls to lick.
