Hey everybody,
So I just designed this poster, first in a series. It's a bit of a dig at myself and many other designers who fall prey to trends from time to time. I figured it might be something I'd want near my desk as a reminder to invent instead of follow. Might do limited edition prints some day if I can find a demand. Sort of an antithesis to motivational posters.
Just wanted to see if anyone would want something like this if it was printed on nice archival uncoated stock & at a reasonable price.

personally i wouldnt buy the poste but i like the idea of it. i agre with almost all of the things you said in the poster.
but then i question myself and ask if doing that actually makes you a good designer?
and as for magenta... i was gonna use that in a new site, bt you actually made me realise that is just a populist colour at the mo...
but maybe its ok for sites to fall into a current trend. they might fie quick and fast (ala pixel fonts) but maybe its good to be able to do something that is populist and with a current movement?
anyways, yes i like the poster - no i wouldnt buy it but i would use it as my desktop wallpaper... for free... sorry

thanks poomoo.
I have no problem w/ magenta either, fact I've always liked it & I use it in my own ID system. All I was doing was taking a dig at design that has no substance...not too seriously though. just wanted to be sort of tongue-in-cheek about it.

i like it a lot. i'm totally guilty of the 45 degree angle lines but they aren't in rainbow colors. ;) check it:
but, hey, can you send me the next couple posters you do? i like the design/simplicity.
:)

nRIK:
yeah I picked up on that one. Question: I applied to a firm & they asked to see some of my experimental work. I sent them this among other things. Problem is, I sent it before I noticed the typo. Think I should fix & send him a new version or just leave it & hope he doesn't notice? Not sure which looks worse...
thanx

fixed the typo, thanks nRIK. Also copy was redundant w/postmodern, got rid of that....
If I can find 100 people that want prints I'll sell them for a good price

(Jan 7 06, 14:06)I think you're exploiting this poor man's sex appeal. treating others like objects is a no no.

:D
I know, he's a purty sexy beast

Hey Mel, I wouldn't worry too much, your site is hot and your work is solid...
I was poking fun at myself as well :)
my own business cards are actually gray & hot pink...
