- jevad0
dude...it's not bad...hahahah..didn't even think about it...

Depends on the car and how you like to drive.

i live in the city, LA... i'm just a lil worried cause its mad traffic in the morning when heading to work!!! But the dealer said it hits 60mph on 2nd!

If you really like driving you can't go wrong with a manual, better gas milage, more fun, more torque.
But in all honesty if you like to go from point A to point B, just get an automatic.
I used to sell Mazda's( and Dodges) not to be a d**k but I really doubt it gets to 60mph in 2nd, if it does, you're gonna burn that engine out fast.
Just lookin out for ya!

Yeah, it depends on how much "racing" you like to do. I got the Mazda 6 with the sportsmatic shifter ... my first automatic. It's really great for driving in traffic and still lets you have fun with the car when you want. The only real drawback is off the line since you have no throttle control.

What jevad said.
Changing gear all the time on mountainous roads is so boring

woody... how low can i haggle with the price?

LA traffic? Get automatic.
...and driving in mountains or hills with a manual transmission I guess is about personal preference because I love shifting gears in those kinds of conditions.

You don't want manual if you're gonna be sitting in traffic. I drove a manual A4 in NYC commute traffic for a year and cursed the 5 speed...

i've got a 3s with the auto and i'm glad i did because i live in the city. i'd blow my knee out again if i had the manual.
it's a great car too btw.

as much as you can, the dealer should want you to buy the car more you want to buy it.
if they sense that you want it really bad, oh ho ho...oh man. so yeah, don't seem desperate and haggle
- johndiggity0
depends on what options you are looking at. be prepared to spend a while at the dealership if you want to get the lowest price. i was there for 5 hours.

which Mazda 3 are you getting?
my friend just got a 5 door Touring. things badass, i love the Titanium Gray color.my only thing with the automatic tranny is it's an extra $950.
as in terms of haggling, one thing to keep in mind is if you plan on trading in your old car and also plan on putting money down, don't mention you are putting the extra money down till after they quote you for the value of your old car.
if you tell them all that at once, they won't give you as much for your trade in.

goto edmunds.com before and do some research too. they a price of what other people are paying for the car. some cars are lower than invoice through incentives or rebates. that invoice number also isn't always the actual price that the dealer pays for that car.
