I'm looking to buy a .NET eCommerce engine with the full source code available. So far the only products I've found have server license restrictions.
We're looking to use it as a base to develop our own product. Any suggestions?

good luck. you will most likely be developing your own all the way. the very nature of proprietary code environments prevents this sort of thing from becoming available. a group will develop it so far, then sell it and not include source- the model wouldn't work for them if they did.

This is a product we had been looking at. It says you get the full source but also says there is a per server fee.

Do you think this is something that is possible to customize and re-sell?

i can say pretty confidently, "no."
it says right there at the top what you get for each level buy- the per license/per-site is uniform across all of them.
and that is the stupidest "fact sheet" i have ever seen. this is not a dis on what you are trying to do, but i swear, every M$-based tech group has the worst documentation and worst information available to the interested party. it is like "here, just sign a check and i will show you what is behind this curtain. It is M$, you can trust it..."

Thanks for the advice madirish.
Personally, I'm just as happy to stick with customizing open souce PHP but .NET is the latest and greatest buzz word around and the powers that be are very adamant that any new product we develop be in .NET so we will likely have to develop something in house.
