I'm designing the latest issue of a tax magazin (woohoo!) and the lead article is 'Investment in America'. So instead of an image of a brownstone in manhattan, I was thinking of an illustration from the goldrush era, like one of these:
Do you think this will get the idea across, or can you think of a good image? I know panning for gold doesn't really constitute investing! But it is all american and they're both about the american dream.
This is the difference between an art director and a designer - an art dorector would know instantly!thanks

It is about the American dream, but I think you need to tie it into something more contemporary and recognizable to the suits.
What about combining your goldrush idea into a timeline/mural thing, that uses those images, along with wagontraining west, the brownstone, wallstreet, etc...
The American Dream in a larger context.
Make any sense?
