Why is there always that one guy that pisses me off to no end? He's constantly requesting that i stretch my text or add a bevel/emboss to a logo, why why why???

They are planted by agents of Newstoday, knowing that since designers have no one to bitch to at work you will have to turn to Newstoday. Once at NT you will view and click on adsm which in turn increases revenue helping them amass a fortune for world domination. Crafty Fuckers they are.

It could be worse - they could've asked you to add a lens flare 'because it'll pop.'
- bulletfactory0
just remember to "think outside of the box"

*pukes in trash can*
did you say "lens flare"?
- fullerc0
At least your A.D. didn't tell you to "put the HEADLINE here at the bottom"
TRUE STORY!

i have a basement full of corpses of former coworkers that annoyed me...

Yeah, he actually embraces bastardizing type. And then bevel/embossing it.
Oh, and he loves ummm, i dunno what it's called, but taking a perfectly fine photograph and running it through one of those filters so it looks like it was printed out at 72 dpi. Then, of course, more lens flare.

Gone in two months!
Moving to Portland, probably should start looking for a job.
- _salisae_0
best of luck then! i hear portland is more of an ad city than design ..
- dablammit0
Yeah, I dunno, I'm not too concerned about it, I have a feeling I won't find what I'm looking for design-wise out there. But the rest of it is definitely my thing.

At the moment I am dealing with someone who won't look at thing 100%. So if I send a 800 X 600 chances are they view it only in their email. It causes the ouput to be a bit pixilated.
Thier reaction is always the same. "It looks 'Bit-Mappy'".
It took about two weeks to figure out they were looking at shit at whatever size it came through in the email attachment.
Fist through face!!!!

Just yesterday:
Doug, this ad is too much phone.
Doug: We're pushing the phone, which is the #1 phone on the market right now to the #1 demographic buying it.
Make the phone 60% smaller and push the message.
Doug: The message is 6 paragraphs... to be read in an HTML email... we only have about 3 seconds to capture their attention, that is what the phone is for.
They'll read the message! Do it!

Today. We got a click through rate on their brainchild of .002% All the user had to do was click on one button to take them to the promotion.
We sent it to 10,000 addresses. I feel so good about my last day here tomorrow. I just can no longer do what I know is not right on a daily basis.

If you replaced the phone with a cowbell, they would have made it bigger.

Spendogg. I'm writing that down.
