You should be able to use a library font...
only one way to find out though
- jpolk0
so basically just can't use a font embedded in the library?

you fucking rock...

Hack way of ensuring formatting on dynamically created input field
var input_txt:TextField = this[name_str];
var txt_fmt:TextFormat = new TextFormat();with (txt_fmt)
{
font = "HelveticaNeue LT 65 Medium";
size = 11;
color = 0x1BA5C9;}
with (input_txt)
{text = "TEST";
wordWrap = true;
multiline = true;
textColor = 0x1BA5C9;type = "input";
}input_txt.setTextFormat(txt_fmt...
input_txt.text = ""
input_txt.onChanged = function()
{
this.setTextFormat(txt_fmt); // keep text formatted as user inputs
}hope that helps

oh, "not natively in flash" was part of a post that i thought i cancelled...
yeah, i'm creating the field dynamically...
i remember back in 6 having to have all of your tf attributes be in a certain order when embeddding fonts... doesn't seem to be the case with regular fileds, but prehaps it still is with input fields?
fuck it... i'll just attach a preformatted field... the little bit of satisfaction i'll gain is probablt not worth 2 hours of hassle .

Not sure whats up. And you are creating the textfield dynamically? That should solve the problem.

not natively in flash

not natively in flash

your_textField.embedFonts = true;
Try that.
- krust0
can you set the tracking/kerning with that method, or is that still impossible?
for dynamic textfields i mean.

Hm, the mc_tween has helped with a lot of formatting issues I would have with dynamic and input fields.
- jpolk0
like i said... the fon't embedded, and it's working in fields that aren't embedded (i'm even linking to the same text format...)
- kyl30
what if you made a hidden text fiels off the stage and embeded the style/gylphs in it? then created your dynamic text fields at runtime.
i alway wanted to try this to see if it worked
- jpolk0
honestly, this is a pain in the ass... i wonder if i gave up last time and just made a movie clip with a preformatted input box and attached, when needed, last time...
- jpolk0
if you try to embed in an imput field, the field becomes uneditable... i am steeing format to a font that is, however, embedded in the library already. so we should be kosher...
- bulletfactory0
is it an embed issue?
- jpolk0
also, i just realized that my 3rd post was barely in english....
hard for me to see in this tiny box.
(don't strike me please, qbn. lol)
- jpolk0
?
not sure what you mean... i've got a ton of tween functions written for the application already, but i can't really fathom how they would help out with text formatting...

Try MC_tween class:
