Ok so i have a flash file that works fine in FireFox, but in IE you need to click to activate it before any of the interactive components will work. I swear it used to work just fine in IE.
Do different browsers interpret flash differently? Is there a problem in my .fla, or is this some type of embed problem in the html?
I suck at flash so anything that can point me in the right direction or get me started is much, much appreciated!

yeah i just asked the same question about having to click to activate flash objects in the browser, but got no response. it seems like it just started doing it. i guess it was probably part of a security update in windows. but i cant seem to figure out how i can turn that off. its pretty annoying when you work on flash websites all day long and you have to click to activate everytime you are refreshing your work

use the find button down there
search for ActiveX

I just can't win. Now my bosses think I'm so smart that they want me to go back and fix ALL the sites that have problems in IE. i think YOU will need to buy ME a drink when this is all done.
Should I work on a fix, or will M$ have another update in the next few weeks?

uh... there is no fix... don't expect one either...
.. just use the swfObject for all your sites w/Flash and move on...
... being angry w/m$ won't help either...
and as far as updating every exisitng site out there... YOU'RE IN THE SAME BOAT AS THE REST OF US!!
... the only person buying the beer is you!! :)

I thought about that. Do i go back and fix all my clients sites? Or wait til some of them say something. The ones I have a retainer with, yeah. The clients I take good care of yeah. Some, I'll charge. We can't always give our time away for free. This is a business afterall
