So I'm proposing to my girlfriend in a couple weeks, and my plan is to take a stack of letters we've written to eachother (we live in different parts of the country), and typeset/design them on really nice archival card stock. I'm looking for a really nice box to put them in, not sure if it will be metal, wood, or card stock. I was gonna have my printer actually make boxes, but the cost was silly for just a couple of them.
Anybody got a link or two?? Thanks NT!

Ha. I did the same thing. Of course after everything went south in the relationship I got the box mailed to back to me, crushed by some heavy object and in a hundred little bits.
Go with something metal would be my advice.

It's a done deal btw, we've already talked about it a lot. I need something in the A6 size range. Maybe a small portfolio box...never seen one that small tho

I have this book

wood is warm, personal, wonderful.
get yourself something made of an exotic, but local wood... like birdseye maple if you like light:
...crotch walnut if you like dark:
i made this for a friend a few years back. it's made from curly maple. inside he placed a set of tarot cards wrapped in a black silk scarf and gave them to wife. she was pleased.

I did something similar... for a final project in college I had to make a book, so I wrote a book to my girl about us, blah blah, love, etc.... hand bound it and built a box out of a really nice wood that one of my professors got for me from africa.
behind the last page I mounted the ring in velvet on the back cover. It was great.
