Thanks to all who commented on the site.
The most common note was that the site was too dark, so we added some color to the top nav in this comp
What do you guys think?

my name's buck and im here to.... hehehe
did you take teh people off of it?
- ********0
I'm guessing you mean the profile sample that was further down the home page.
They are not in this comp, but we are debating on keeping it simple on teh home page without all the content.

I dont get it - the site is nice and everything, but the product!
"You hand out the flirtbuck to someone you are interested in learning more about"
Why not just talk to them if you are ballsy enough to give them a card which basically says "I fancy you" on it!
And how can you hand someting to someone for those missed opportunities
- fifty500
i take it this is a product for the internet generation where people would rather get to know more about other people online instead of face-to-face... or at least for the shy ones.
- ********0
Let's say you go to lunch. You notice a cute girl sitting with all their friends. Are you telling me that everyone will have enough balls to go up and interrupt their lunch and see if they are interested in them as well?
Also, a missed opportunity applies to most everyone I have talked to. For example if you go to http://www.craigslist.org/mis/
these are all people who thought someone was cute, but did not go up and talk to them.
- Beeachboy0
I get that, but would you go up to a group of girls and hand them a piece of plastic?
I would never do either - I haven't tried dating for 6 years, but before that i was terrible - but I kind of see where you're going, but handing over this card in person, and then coming back to a computer hoping she sends a reply would be a little soul destroying!
- I searched your original thread and read the discussions there so will understand you prob don't want to get into again
Good luck with it though!

I can see where you are coming from. It is hard to approach someone in some instances, especially if it is something new they have never seen. When online dating first came out it was looked upon as desperate, why because it was new.
I'm hoping that people will realize all the times in one day that this could come in handy.
There have already been a few connections through the site and the site is only 2 weeks old. So that tells me that it is working and people are not laughing them off but are actually responding that they are also interested.
- Beeachboy0
Cool - certainly not laughing it off, especially as you've put it into production - i wish you all the best.
Is it just the US for now?

is this service good for married people too?
- mybrokenshoe0
Is definately better still very dark and the red is a 'blood' doesn't really say dating to me. Also feels very masculine.
i love the logo though, yum.
goodluck with it.
- ********0
Yes it works for married people too..since I have no way of knowing or limiting the site to singles only.
Heck..maybe half of lavalife or e-harmony are marreid people too :)

mybrokenshoe: thanks for the compliment on the logo.
As far as blood red, it's hard to find a red that goes with the black that still has that "sex" appeal with a little class.
Masculine appeal? Can you pinpoint what part looks that way? Trying to make it unisex. So far the women love the layout, even when it was all black.

I don't think the colours make it look masculine...

Ok, the next biggest response was price.
Do you guys really think 9.99 for a set of 4 plastic cards is too expensive?
So if you look at it by forgetting about the service offered and break down the cards to 2.50 per card. That is still cheaper than buying someone a drink to get to know them..unless you go on dollar draft nights.
The people that have seen the flirtbucks think that 9.99 is a fair price, so I just wanted to find out what people online thought about it.

test 04 gonna be great...
IMO
The white text is hard to read on that background. You've got these grey borders with contents in them. But whats inside the border gets lost. It doesn't pop enough. The outline of the card is not noticable. Why not a real picture of the cards. That will add some depth to the look. Its too flat and monotone. Even with the red.
The Nav outline should be a bit more, well... outlined
The logo is just floating. Maybe make it have a card like feel around it to define it. So a bit of a card type border...
of course this is all my opinion...

good point joyride2.
Will take into consideration. We do have a picture of the free sample that we hand out at events.

How to meet a girl you are interested in but don't have the guts to talk to:
1. Do not talk to her ... yet.
2. Swig from flask.
3. Guzzle from flask.
4. Test out jokes with whoever is around you.
5. When they don't laugh get real angry.
6. Swig.
7. Tell your friends to bugger off, and stumble to the lass.
8. Knock over a chair or two, let her know you mean business.
9. Introduce yourself in a loud audible from Pluto voice, compliment her.
10. Duck to left.
11. Laugh at person who got her drink thrown on them.
12. Grimmace in pain as you get kicked in the nuts and not paying attention because you were laughing so hard.Fin.
