- Geith0
$47.95
- nUBBER0
so you already have the photos?
- skt0
I would charge my hourly rate multiplied by however many hours it would take me.
- mg330
It's more like what I WOULD PAY someone NOT TO DO THAT.
It is a complete discredit to a car to assume that viewing it in 2D on the web will pass as any kind of logical representation of it.
A car must be seen in person, touched, sat in, tires kicked, etc. to be understood.
So, my answer is: Put up a simple jpg that says PLEASE VISIT YOUR LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO EXPERIENCE TO GET UP IN AN ACCENT.

the click and drag causes issues, it should just be transparent mcs to mouse over as you go side to side and advance to the next/prev frame with a couple lines of as
500 if you already have the pictures
1000 if its one car no pics
750/ if 2 cars
666/car if theres more than 2
- joyride0
good lord... if it's for the auto industry or through a big agency, they are going to charge the client at least $150/hr for each hour you work. I would say at least 6k, maybe a weeks worth... ad companies will/have payed 1k for a banner ad. DEEP POCKETS - get yer' money
- mg330
500 if you already have the pictures

750/ if 2 cars
666/car if theres more than 2
$10 a car if they can get the president impeached

BTW I think it sucks that it only moves horizontally - I want to flip it vertically so I can check out it's crotch, see if it's shaved and whatnot.

600?? are u joking? have you ever work in a agency or even studio yet?? pls tell me you are still a student..
i am not sure why u asking this question here...
but, pls don't charge less then 8000 please...
respect your work and our industry... or we all become somekind of "computer" guy people paid to get some job done

You'll need to charge a lot of time to touch-up reflective surfaces and correct color and lighting, etc.
The Flash part of it is fairly easy. You'll need a good studio with a pro in lighting. That's where the major charges will be.
I'd ballpark around $4k-$7k – plus expenses of studio rental, lighting rental and lighting peeps, photographer, car shammy, etc..
- b_magallanes0
you opening the hood and doors... etc.? If so, I wouldnt charge less than $2000 or so
- sodyPop0
why is this place becoming a design auction site?
- linearch0
shammy!

You can hire a photographer for $100 an hour. This shouldn't take more than 2 hours in total.
The flash is incredibly simple. Give about 2 hours for post processing, 5-6 hours for actual conversion into flash. Bill it at $100-$150 an hour and you have a ballpark of $900-$1500.
If you are taking any longer than the hours I quoted, you are lazy or don't know what you're doing.
if you really think your time is worth more than $150 an hour, you're pretentious.

this thread is //chock-full-o-KNOW-IT-ALLS...
...thank you all for making me dumber than I already am.
If it's for a local car dealer... um... I'd laugh and explain that they're probably wasting their money... If it's for a big name... then charge appropriately.
Juliet... could you cheapen our industry any more? Good lord... if you think you're going to shoot a car in 2 hours @ $100/hour... you're dreaming... where are you coming up w/that?
The price is determined by client and EXPOSURE of the project - goto Getty images and price one image and mess w/the imagery's public exposure and usage... YOU HAVE TO CHARGE FOR THAT TOO!!!! HAVE TO. MUST... DO IT!
If the site's going to get hit like crazy... then charge them for that exposure of your design... if it's just a lil local bit... then charge it hourly.
- setsolid0
To Juliet:
You may be right if the client we are talking about is something like a friend’s family restaurant business...
We are talking about an automobiles industries as client here...
And yes I think a work/design by a good designer worth more then 150 per hr. A marketing consultant can charge more then 300 per hr... and now you think as designer, don’t deserver the right to pay at that level?
People like you, is the reason that our role as designer are not being respected as we should.
- Juliet0
You're a production artist, not a marketing guru. Your salary is billed hourly, based on your skillset, not the amount of money the company can possibly make.
You are all far too pretentious for your own goods. To think, A shitty little 3d flash rotation thing is going to drive so much revenue as to base your pricing upon how successful the company is or is not. You are all fools. The arrogance to think that such a small application, such a minute part of advertising-ignoring distributing, financing, marketing, accounting, sellling--and you're trying to take credit for the company's success?
Get back to reality. All of your egos are far too big. My estimate is right on. Others even quoted $2000, which would take into account revisions. You're all absolutely ridiculous to think it's some novel or mission critical idea to charge more than $150 for a 3d spin that everyone else is using.
- Juliet0
$150 an hour, that is.
If you cannot hire and direct a photographer for $100 an hour to take around 30 quick shots...of a piece of STILL LIFE you fools, not a model, just a thing that SITS THERE....All I can do is laugh at how inept some of you are. If you cannot manage this feat, get out of this industry now.
setsolid you are an idiot. Designers are not strategists. A 3d app is not a marketing plan. Get the hell out of here.
