i like it but
not sure if those colors work on dark backgroundalso.. i would put the hipfit as one word but bold the first and not ital it
- dinky0
that logo is kinda turning me on
- paraselene0
that's really cute. i'd lose the ital on fit, but otherwise i like it a lot.
don't suppose you've got that bally ad handy? i'm curious now...

i have a question first. do you like contrast and contraddictions in design? if you do, i can' halp.
- rasko40
I tihnk the illustration is too big in comparison to the type, I can foresee problems there, I also think there are too many typestyles going on.
- Nairn0
what rasko said, and..
..she's about to drop / fall over on top of the baby?
(and I don't like the merging of heel and type)

i was most worried about the text/illustration size and the type

one word my friend, 'simplicity'
you have the idea, don't over think it. just simplify what you have now.

It's really cute, however you have to look at it for a little while to tell what it is. Might be an indication of an unsuccessful logo.

good call brooke.. i noticed that it takes some people a moment before they say 'aaaaahh i see it.. niiiiiice' :S
especially when its tiny
- brandelec0
shift, any suggestions on simplifying it?
nice site btw

i like it, but you asked for a crit so...
the mom reads well but i find the kid shape is kinda lost in her arms.. maybe bring the kid in closer, like rest against her body so you loose that litttle negative space, and his/ her shoulder aren't so high.
the pointing finger works great for IDing as child.
+ i also find her waist a little low, but that may just be me.
+ $20 says your client will ask you to make mom look a little bit less skinny.. even fit mama's don't have butts that small.
+ heel & M combo isn't working for me.. i'd just use the foot as a divider an do a complete M. will also work better that way as a typeset on its own.

hey u in vancity?
- Shift5250
you have all the elements there. the mom, baby and exercise ball(i think) don't worry about the type for now. trying creating a shape that implies all three elements. but be careful that you don't make it look like gym taht targets infants. you might also want to try a logotype treatment. good luck!

(May 26 06, 09:26)lived on Commercial for many many years but recently bought a house in the gulf islands and set up shop out here.
all my work is still in the city so I'm back and forth often.

I love the concept and as somebody else stated, I think simplification is key with this one. You're bringing a lot of elements together to make a meaningful and engaging mark for a time in life when a woman is feeling rather un-sexy, so the curvy sex appeal silhouette is hot and appropriate, but I'd also recommend a bit more of a voluptuous figure.
The baby does take a few seconds to see. Babies are cute cause they have such big heads - you might be able to play that up a bit. Another idea is to maybe work up a version of the silhouette pushing a carriage? Maybe too literal? It might be worth exploring.
I actually quite like the merging of the heel and the M, although you will need to consider how you'll deal with this in a horizontal configuration.
Looking forward to seeing it refined.

def. gonna work on this with comments in hand
