any DJ that plays the tracks written by the producers I normally listen to, is my favorite DJ!

If you're into breaks, hip hop, turntablism...Psychonauts Essential Mix on Radio 1 = best dj mix that you will ever hear.

These aren't 'sets' they are compilations... a set is live, a compilation is pre-recorded.
But anyway, if we are talking about compilations one that springs to mind is:
Fabriclive 39: DJ Yoda.
Which, incidently is a recording of a live set. The clue is in the name.
- Sorry for the rant, I'm full of flu and loaded to fuck with all sort of meds. Pretty sweet actually...Raniator
- good callneue75_bold
- Mixes? Sets? Its all about the music, don't get hung up on live or not!! ;) That Yoda mix is sweet though!nigo
- Yeah, I know... I DJ so you are preaching to the converted ;)Raniator
- yeah, always used to annoy me too...what kinda stuff you into Rainiator?nigo
- Sorry 'Raniator' not 'Rainiator'...a wee Freudian slip due to the shit weather recently! ;)nigo
- Into loads of stuff, play house/electro mainly. Getting into tech/minimal too. Got a tech mix on my website...Raniator
- ...but it 'clips' for some reason. Record settings must have been all messed up. Still listenable though, I think!Raniator

Some of the Invisble-scratch-picklz stuff was quite revolutionary. (bit of a head fuck at times)
Also listened to the Deezim and Makoto mix the other day which was quite good

DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist with "Brainfreeze"
Absolutely outstanding mix and even more outstanding to watch too.
I saw this tour live and also have the video, the amount of work that goes into this mix and with so many rare and expensive seven inches is amazing. This sort of skill absolutely shits on the likes of the Pete Tongs, Danny Ramplings, Carl Cox malarky. And im peased to see theres a lot of mixes that do truely deserve some kudos on this post - the likes of coldcut, qbert n numark etc.
Soulwax/2manyDJs stuf is alright but i find it gets a bit annoying after a while - all sounds the same.

Christ, I can barely remember song titles and artist names, never mind bloody DJ sets.
I guess my all time favourite is Plasticman at The Building.
No idea where 'The Building' is, nor when it was done ('99-ish?), but I loved the terribly hissy tape version I played on my crappy Walkman back then as much as I love the crappily compressed MP3 version I'm listening to now, in honour of this thread.

Please note how clever I've been with the filename.detritus
