My little brother just graduated from high school and I got him a digital camera as a present.
He just called me up and said the screen was cracked. Just from being in his pocket...un-huh
I did not get an extended warranty on it cause I didn't think I needed it. I bought it about 3 1/2 weeks ago.
Anyone got any tips on how to get it replaced. (got it from CompUSA)

2 ways ... 1] go back buy the same camera w/ the extended warranty but return the one with the ok screen claim the broke screen one, or 2] buy a new one take it back the next day with the broke screen make sure to clean it up REALLY REALLY good and take off all pics etc / and say you want a refund it was broke and just act really pissed off and say you dont want to buy another from there store since there shit was broke in the package.!

You have the receipt? What are the rules and exchanges and/or returns?
3.5 weeks doesn't seem very long to have an item.

careful sometimes they match serial numbers from the product to the box.

Even if you have the extended warranty most places don't cover accidental damage.
Unfortunately I know this from experience.

i had a camera screen break the same way...you can replace the lcd on most digital cameras for around 100-150 USD. you can do it yourself pretty easy or send it back to the maker and they will charge you a little more...
good luck
