do it this way.
you both get 1000.
then, you pay (184-67)=117 to him for the purchase difference.

ok, ok that shines some light.

(Jun 16 06, 18:33)What tkmeister said, except divide 117 by 2 and give that to him.
- pr2-1
my cat's ovries ARE yours. send me your address so i can send them to you.
- pr2-1
huh?
- skelly0
splitting the difference.
117/2 = about $59 is what you owe him
you want to split the COST evenly, add his 184 and your 67. total cost = 251. now split that in half. you should each spend $125. but he spent 184, which is $59 too much, you owe him 59.
- skelly0
which is what ajm said, 117/2.
- tkmeister0
yeah, so what i said in the intial 2 posts were incorrect. oh man, my gf is getting on my nerve now, that must be the reason!
- skelly0
haha. it's totally her fault.
- pr2-1
so i end up with $942? Rather then $816 that Jaline said?
- jdcomba0
are you serious?
- skelly0
you get 942, he gets 1058. then you both go spend it all at the pub.
- Jaline0
okay, obviously my math is shady
do what skelly said
- pr2-1
ok, all right my poor cat is getting nervous. Thanks everyone!
- tkmeister1
skelly, yes it is her fault!
now she's being difficult.
- skelly0
wait how much did the cat pay?
