Hi,
I have recently had some trouble with some clients having websites done and then turning round and blatantly not paying. I know I should of made stage payments etc etc. I was wondering, is there a way of having a file on my server, saying something like;
true/false
which gets checked by a site i produce before the site is launched. If the statement says true the site launches if it says false the site just wont load? I think i read something about this on NT not so long back, cant seem to find it. Can anyone help?
Cheers

have a main swf you give to the client. In the main swf load the real swf from your site. If the client doenst pay either ban them in the cross domain policy file or just remove the swf from your site.

Cheers Undo.
Is that going to be a slow way of doing it though, in terms of loading?

shouldn't be slow at all springbok.
Also what you can do is place a stamp" over the content saying "UNPAID" in a nice large stencil font, they'll pay within minutes, including any late fees they may have incurred.

would that be done in the same way as just loading the file from my server? but I just change the SWF with the Text over it?

the sIFR flash file has a little script in it that will check the domain it's being served from...
you could probably repurpose that for your work. just be sure to serve the mockup off of your server.
