Anyone else feel that while having a video screen and 30GB hard drive on an iPod is great and a wicked step forward in technology, they could have sorted out the annoying millisecond gap between tracks?
This is only really relevant on mix albums where just as the tunes are smoothly being mixed, there's a tiny gap that tells you the next track has started......

you know your grandparents went to school with kids from kindergarten to 12th grade all n one room right?
and they didn't have AC
and most likely did HARD manual labor more than half their life
hush it

they also didnt bitch about not getting their NTPE for a long ass time either cause in those days, mail took alot longer

What does that mean?
Am I getting my print?

So by that rationale, you can never moan about any technology shortcomings post 1960s ever again. Fine by me.

there are plenty of things to moan about! like this:

but in all honesty, we prob shouldn't moan at all, we have it pretty easy ;)

I think you can choose not to have a gap between songs in iTunes.

thats nothing to do with iPods. its the MP3 format which does that. As soon as something is imported or compressed as mp3, you'll get that gap.

Yes, but that joins the tracks all into one long MP3, so you can't see what track is playing....
I was just saying that it's kind of odd how something small isn't rectified while there are major changes to the rest of it. And when it's £250 you're spending....

that's an option to i think on some encoders, "add gap at beginning or end of track"
make sure thats unchecked
- DaveO0
So if i rip my files as AIFFs or WAVs they'll play properly? Not to mention eat up all of the space....

for what they cost you are entitled to moan, bitch and ,well thats it for now, FOR NOW. the same thing will happen to an mp3, aiff, aple lossless, m4u, and all of the formats. I wouldnt be surprised if apple had designed it to make sure that gap is there so that in a few years they make one for professional djs or something... superexpensive , without the gaps.

Only a couple mp3 players do gapless playback, one of the iriver models and the lyra players.

Prize goes to HumanMale for the solution.
