I am working on a navigation concept and need some quick feedback about whether anyone would actually use this crap.
The idea is a 5 step process to match you to the appropriate person. The things numbered 1-5 are buttons that bring up an interface in the left side to enter settings to filter search results.
Does it make sense at all?
Any comments are welcome.

Seems fine and easy to work out to me. Looking good too.

seems pretty clear. having "enter your zip code" twice is a tad confusing and redundant.

i likes. no slap for you.

thanx for the quick advice, i got some programmers telling me it's too complicated and needs to be dumbed down...
i think it can be simplified some...
any other comments are welcome

Nice and simple. Like it.
question:
I presumed that I was the stylist as that tab is in front and red and matches the red of the number one.......
but I think I am really samantha???? (and if so should that tab be brought forward instead)or am I missing something?

I suppose you could have it in a different format to enter all the details at once but this is just the devs being lazy.

not bad. it's def got some nice things going.
next to the zip code box i'd make the arrow pointing right into the word "go". the arrow isn't intuitive as it to most users is pointing to the right (not telling them to go to the next section) so they look right only to see another arrow pointing them back to the form field. actually i know from a design standpoint you'll hate me saying this, but on both text boxes i'd change the arrows to 'go' for the zip code and 'search' for the search box. don't make your users think.
as i'm thinking about it you might even kill the arrow and go altogether and put a next, as this is only 1 in a 5 step plan.
nice feedback though telling them they are at stage one out of five.
you might even tone down the text of 2-5 to help the user focus on the 1.
btw, i'm a user experience designer and i've learned shitloads about ux and ui design in the 3 weeks i've been here. i'm just basically telling you what my boss would tell me.
lovely though with the shadings and gradients. love the colors too.

Looks nice. But its kind of hard to give feedback on the navigation when it is not functional ie jpg. do you have something running?
- myobie0
sorry, not functional yet
trying to get there soon, will bring it back in when that happens...thanx for all the good feedback so far
anymore is appreciated

First of all, great style. Colors are absolutely great. UX-wise, this is a very interesting concept. Ditto Kona's comment about the arrow. I think it's key that you mock up one of the other states (out of 2-5). Step 1 and 5 will be the easiest because you have the most space to work with to the left/right of the current step. What happens to the explanatory text when I am on Step 3?
- myobie0
Step three is actually being taken out, and it is going to be a four step process in total...
but it would read something applicable to that step...
we have decided to show three steps: zip code, price, and server
then if all three are used, a fourth will become available (now called refinery, later called something better) that allows you to refine your search even more than those three basic things...
thanx for all the feedback, the arrow buttons with die ;)
