What's are some thoughts on this?
to me it seems like a cash grab. Anyone registered and know the real perks not just what they say on the website is it something worth looking into or just a like i said before a cash grab?

the rgd is bullshit.
they are still terribly irrelevant and in a word: masturbatory.Read up on the AGA and see what a real group is about... then make your own comparison.
The RGD has tonnes of potential, but aren't much good unless you're into saving $60 on a seminar.

Yeah I agree.
I am a student member right now but only because it is part of my program, but I have no interest in becoming a full member once I graduate.
It is pretty crap. They host a bunch of events and stuff, but the benefits don't seem great. You would think that the RGD accreditation would give you some sort of advantage, but the problem (especially for freelancers) is that clients don't know what the fuck the RGD is, so it dosn't really work to your benefit against someone who dosn't have it, not to mention, the fact that you do have RGD says nothing about the quality of the work you produce anyways.
I wrote an article last year for my school magazine weighing out the pros and cons of accreditatio (specifcally RGD); I kept a pretty neutral stance but overall from the research I did I made my own conclusion that it is not worth the money and not necessary.
